Staying Power- Photographs of the Black British Experience at BCA
Last night saw a special event for teachers across London to celebrate and find out more about the new exhibition at the Black Cultural Archives(BCA) in their newly opened centre in Windrush Square, Brixton. The Staying Power exhibition is the culmination of of project between BCA and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and displays photographs of the Black British experience in the second half of the twentieth century. The photographs have been used to stimulate oral histories from people who experienced those times. Some of this material has in turn been used to develop workshops and activities. A great exhibition for all ages, and well worth seeing. To find out more about workshops for schools connected to the exhibition contact Syreeta
