24 children from Loughborough, Christ Church SW9, Jessop and St John’s Angell Town had a fantastic day last Friday as they went for a very special tour of the Houses of Parliament and the House of Lords with their own tour guide. The children also got to take part in a a simulated ‘child’ parliament, where they were allocated positions and then chose a topic to debate: ‘ban smoking for everyone’. They then designed a campaign, medium (verbally) and learnt about the different representatives of parliament. The tutor was amazing, theatrical and a great entertainer. All the children AND the adults loved it and everyone learnt a lot – we hope to book another visit for more children to attend and one of the other many workshop topics on offer. Many thanks to Miss Longman and Miss McKail for leading the trip.
