In the last few years we have made several cluster trips to the Houses of Parliament to see the House of Commons in action and take part in excellent interactive workshops on how parliament works, making laws and debating. The UK Parliament website has a wealth of resources available for use both in school and at home, which is well worth exploring and informative across the age range, children and adults. We are fortunate this year to have been working with Science specialists from Ogden Trust, as part of our partnership with them for the next 4 years. Chatta Club resources for parents and carers of primary children FREE
Chatta Club resources are currently free to download for parents and carers.
Chatta is a teaching approach which links images with language. It was developed following extensive work in hundreds of schools and with thousands of teachers and pupils. Chatta is used by teachers as a whole-class teaching resource with pupils aged 3 to 18, and also by teaching assistants as an intervention resource. Parents are central to Chatta and as well as being able to support learning with the Chatta resources they also use the Chatta app to make Chatta stories at home.

helping parents support dyslexic children and those struggling with literacy whilst they are at home
Some children struggle with reading and writing and we recognise parents might need some help supporting them in their learning whilst they are at home. We have been working with an organisation called Access to Literacy this year. They have delivered training to teachers on recognising and supporting children who have literacy difficulties. Their work comes highly recommended. They have shared some suggestions with us, for online resources that parents can access to support their children.

some ideas on non-contact physical activity for home and school to develop football skills
This term we have been lucky enough to work in partnership with Black Prince Trust, Girls United FA and Fulham Football Foundation who have supported a league of 16 girls primary football teams. The games have been brilliant and taken place in all weathers. We hope to complete the league at a later date, but for now Girls United have shared some activities to keep children active and develop their footballing schools, avoiding contact.
For more ideas on staying fit and active and engaging with football, follow Girls United as they post on their social media channels. Their coaches will be releasing challenges and sharing tips over the coming weeks.
