Today children from across our cluster, Nursery through to year 8s, came together to present Science they have been learning in school to each other, hosted by Effra Nursery School. 62 children took part shared work in a variety of areas – properties of Magnets, Green Screen, Sinking and Floating, fruity batteries, what makes food taste sweet and sour, electricity in the human body, states of matter, the solar system, how a bean plant grows and experiments with marshmallow rockets. It was fantastic to see children working together, asking lots of questions and gaining lots of information to share. We were delighted to welcome 2 King’s College, University of London students, one studying Medicine and one studying Chemistry, who joined us for the day to look at the work and talk to children. Parents also joined us for our certificate award ceremony. Next year we shall be working together to progress Science in our schools, so are looking forward to more cross-phase learning opportunities.
