Spelling Bee

On Monday evening 6 BLC primary schools and years 7 and 8 from Evelyn Grace Academy took part in the annual EGA Spelling Bee, hosted by Evelyn Grace Academy. As always the competition was fierce and the standard of spelling very high, as the young people competed in quick fire, relay and last man standing rounds. After a nail biting finish in Last Man standing, both spellers from St John’s Angell Town and Christ Church Primary SW9 were awarded 10 team points. The final primary cup winners were St John’s Angell Town Primary. Bronze, Silver and Gold awards went to star spellers in Evelyn Grace year 7s and 8s with an over all winner coming from year 8. Every year the competitors show great concentration under pressure. Many thanks to all the staff in Evelyn Grace Academy, St Saviour’s Primary, Stockwell Primary, Jessop Primary, St John’s Angell Town Primary, Loughborough Primary and Christ Church Primary SW9 for making the event, to the parents for supporting the children and of course to all the participants for their excellent work. Looking forward to next year.
