SHINE project children are discovering the great outdoors

If you go down to the woods today, you’ll sure have a big surprise. If you go down to the woods today you’ll never believe your eyes……… You will more than likely see lots of our SHINE@ the BLC students having lots of fun learning about woods and forests as part of their topic on Enchanted Forests!

Over the last half term, the children have been learning all about urban forests, rainforests and forests around the UK in their groups Arden, Sherwood and Dean . They have made edible chocolate conkers, mini rain forests in a bottle and their own versions of famous children’s stories set in forests.
Over the next few weeks, the students will be taking part in a drama workshop and will spend the day at Stubbers Adventure Centre, in Essex taking part in the High Ropes Challenge, learning archery and joining in a story telling session in the very dark woods!

This is a brand new year for the SHINE project and we have been joined by over 45, new year 4 -6 students from the BLC schools. We still have a few more places left so if you are interesting in joining the project please contact your BLC school or Lisa Bogle, Project Manager, on 07854350932.
